Canada, eh? The Great White North has a long and storied poker history, producing some of the most famous poker players in the world today (including former 888poker Ambassador Parker “Tonkaaaa” Talbot and the legendary Daniel Negreanu).

You can also find Canadian poker rooms that cater to every type of player — from small regional rooms to one of the hottest poker destinations globally.

If you’ve ever wondered where the best poker rooms in Canada are, this guide covers everything — from Calgary to Montreal and everywhere in between.

Saskatchewan: Casino Regina Poker Room

>

The Casino Regina first opened in 1996 and is one of the best (if not the best) poker rooms in Western Canada. It’s open from 12:00 pm – 4:00 am, Sunday through Thursday, and 12:00 pm – 6:00 am, Friday and Saturday.

Casino Regina offers weekly poker tournaments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Players must be at least 19 years old.

  • Location: Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

  • Number of tables: 10 poker tables offering stakes of $1/$2 No Limit Texas Hold’em up to higher stakes like $100-$200 (Limit) and $10-$25 (No Limit)
  • Notable tournaments: Casino Regina hosts three major tournament series.
    • Station Poker Classic — March 17 – 21, 2026
    • Diamond Poker Classic — June 9 – 13, 2026
    • Harvest Poker Classic — November 11 – 15, 2025
  • Standout features:
    • Private table booking is available. Play with your friends at a reserved, dedicated table. You will need to book four days in advance. Call The Poker Room at (306) 787-2950 to reserve your table.
    • Varied game selection. Along with No Limit Hold ’em, the room has also been known to run Omaha Hi-Lo.

Ontario: Casino Niagara Poker Room

Casino Niagara is a stunning poker room overlooking the breathtaking Niagara Falls and remains one of the top poker destinations in Canada for both tourists and serious players. This property partners with Fallsview Casino, which is just down the street.

  • Location: 5705 Falls Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario, L2E 6T3
  • Number of tables: Casino Niagara is a large room with 26 poker tables, ranging from $1/$3 to $25/$50 No Limit Hold’em on occasion.
  • Notable Tournaments:
    • $400 Sunday tournaments and $300 Wednesday tournaments run weekly at 12:30PM.
    • Seasonal tournament series also run at Casino Niagara, such as the No Limit Hold’em – Winter Main Event
  • Standout features:
    • Casino Niagara is at the hub of a major tourist destination in Niagara Falls, so games there can get significant action.
    • Casino Niagara offers timed rake for $2/$5 at $8 per half hour. This setup makes it one of the best rake structures around in Ontario.

Alberta: Cowboys Casino Poker Room

Located in the heart of downtown Calgary next to the famous Saddledome arena — home of the Calgary Flames hockey team — Cowboys Casino is one of the best poker rooms in Canada for live cash action.

Alberta: Cowboys Casino Poker Room
Alberta: Cowboys Casino Poker Room
  • Location: 421 9 Ave SE, Calgary, Alberta T2G 0R5, inside the Calgary Stampede Park area.
  • Number of tables: Cowboys Casino is one of the largest poker rooms in Alberta, with over 20 tables. There are all types of poker games, including live cash games, offered from $1/$3 to $5/$10+
  • Notable Tournaments: Cowboys Casino hosts occasional tournaments but is more known for the regular cash game action.
  • Standout features: Set in the heart of Calgary’s downtown and adjacent to the Saddledome arena, Cowboys Casino benefits from its prime location. Whether it’s a hockey game, Stampede, or just a unique downtown event, people naturally flow into the cardroom.

Alberta: Deerfoot Inn and Casino

Few poker venues in Western Canada match the prestige of the Deerfoot poker room. Known as Calgary’s poker capital, Deerfoot easily ranks among the best poker rooms in Canada, hosting the prestigious WSOP Circuit Calgary.

  • Location: 11500 35 Street SE, Calgary, Alberta T2Z 3W4.
  • Number of tables: 10 tables offering a mix of No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha cash games 24/7.
  • Notable Tournaments: Deerfoot Inn and Casino is home to the WSOP Circuit Calgary, one of the largest and most prestigious poker festivals in Canada. Travis MacMillan just won October’s WSOP Circuit Calgary Main Event for a payday of C$312,965. Deerfoot also hosts regular Deep Stack and special weekend tournaments year-round.
  • Standout features: Excellent tournament organisation with professional dealers that rival any in the world. Deerfoot also features an on-site hotel, multiple restaurants, and various forms of live entertainment, making this location an ideal stop for travelling poker enthusiasts.

Quebec: Playground Poker Club (Montreal)

At the top of this article, we stated that this list was in no particular order, but let’s be clear: the Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, Quebec, just outside Montreal, is number one.

It’s not just one of the best poker rooms in Canada, but has established itself as one of the world’s most premier poker destinations. It’s not a casino but rather a dedicated cardroom complete with everything any poker player could ever wish for.

  • Location: 1500 Route 138, Kahnawake, Quebec J0L 1B0 (15 minutes from downtown Montreal).
  • Number of tables: Playground Poker Club has 44 tables — the largest poker room in Canada. Stakes range from $1/$2 to $5/$10+
  • Notable Tournaments: Playground Poker Club hosts major tournament festivals regularly including the World Series of Poker International Circuit and the WPT Montreal. They also host MILLIONS North America and run over 20 daily tournaments each week.
  • Standout features: Playground Poker Club operates 24/7 in a Vegas-style luxury setting. Expect world-class dealers, a full-service bar and restaurant and non-stop action. Many poker players call the Playground Poker Club their favourite place to play in the world. However, be warned that the rake is a little higher than some of the others on this list, at 10% up to $11 for $1/$3 and 10% up to $14 for $2/$5. Aside from NLHE, you will also find 5-card PLO Hi running regularly here.

What about Vancouver, British Columbia?
